Safety, Security and Health
Student safety, security and health are our first priority at SIG. All SIG programs are held at safe campus locations and have access to campus security. Students are accompanied by a Counselor or SIG staff member on and off campus. SIG staff can be reached at the on-campus SIG office seven days a week. Senior students are allowed relaxed supervision on most campuses depending on various safety factors. A nurse lives on campus during the program and is available 24 hours a day. Students can be reached by phoning the SIG campus office in an emergency.
During the three-week session, a resident licensed nurse is on duty 24 hours a day. At the beginning of the session, parents are required to give all prescription and non-prescription medication to the nurse, including over-the-counter products such as aspirin, decongestants, antacids, vitamins, etc. Unless the nurse authorizes it, students may not keep any medication in their rooms. Students who are not feeling well during the session must report to the infirmary, escorted by a staff member. Any drug use outside of approved medications from the nurse is strictly prohibited.
