About the Summer Institute for the Gifted

For 25 years, the Summer Institute for the Gifted (SIG) has provided exceptional three-week experiences by creating a community of student learners who share common interests, abilities and goals while studying on inspiring campuses.

We provide your gifted child with challenging and interesting courses, a safe environment and opportunities to grow intellectually, socially and emotionally. It's also the most fun you child will have ever had!

The University of Texas at Austin Campus

University of Texas at Austin is one of the world’s great research universities. With a large, diverse student body and a beautiful campus, UT-Austin is located in a city recognized as a center for culture, politics, the arts, technology and music.

Student Life at SIG

Meals are served buffet-style in the college dining halls on campus.

Residential students live in dormitory groups of approximately 10-14 same age and gender students under the direct supervision of a Counselor. Students spend most of their free and recreational time with their Counselor Group. Details.

Academics and Courses

Instructional courses cover humanities, sciences and mathematics, visual and performing arts, and fitness and recreation. Some courses are multi-disciplinary and involve students in learning experiences that cross traditional boundaries of study.
