Campus Activities

Athletic Facilities
Athletic facilities at the sites include gyms, tennis and basketball courts, swimming pools and outdoor fields. During the three-week session, these facilities may be shared with other programs; however, they always are supervised by our staff during scheduled programs. Students cannot use athletic facilities during unsupervised periods.

Recreational Hour
Each day, Monday through Friday, there is a recreational hour after the last course period. During this hour, students may participate in activities such as swimming, tennis, basketball, volleyball, soccer, chess, and creative arts. Students may also choose to relax and hang out with friends. A different activity, supervised by a SIG staff member, may be chosen each day. Activities may vary by campus.

Snack Bar
On most nights after the Evening Program, students may visit the snack bar on campus if one is available. The snack bar is open during designated hours for students during the duration of the program. It is an area designed for students to purchase snacks and to socialize before the residential time. When the snack bar is open, it is supervised by the residential staff.

Residential Time
There is residential time in the dormitory each evening from 10:30 to 11:00 p.m. (9:30 to 10:00 p.m. for juniors) before lights out. This is an informal time for counselor groups to relax and get ready for bed. Counselors are present, providing supervision.
