SIG Webinar on the Benefits of Summer Learning for Gifted Students

Afterschool Programs

Try these national organizations for local programs near you:

School Programs

Searching for school enrichment may be as easy as looking in your own student body.  Parents who pool their resources will discover a wealth of connections within the community. Libraries, firehouses, police departments, local authors, fitness centers, martial arts schools, dance centers, whole foods markets, etc. – think outside the box!

Programs can range from show and tell and school assembly programs, to themed fairs (we highly recommend a Summer Program Fair!). Just ask, and many local businesses and organizations are willing to present programs to students or promote themselves at a fair.  Local museums will frequently have an outreach program designed to bring their artifacts to your school. Try these resources to find a special school program:

  • Association of Science & Technology Centers
Most science museums take their shows on the road. Programs range from classrooms lessons to large scale assembly shows. Visit www.astc.org to find a science museum with an outreach program near you.
  • School Shows National Directory
