Program Insurance

SIG offers parents and students peace of mind and financial reassurance with SIG’s World Class Coverage Insurance Plan. This plan is available to U.S. students and provides an assortment of benefits which can be reviewed on our website. Additionally, a World Class Coverage policy document, which houses all communications to students regarding program participation. This plan provides an assortment of benefits, including:

  • personal effects coverage for items such as cameras and electronic equipment
  • excess medical coverage for payment of deductibles or out-of-network costs
  • medical evacuation/repatriation in the event of an emergency
  • tuition refunds up to $5,000 for residential students or $4,000 for commuter students in the event that the student is unable to participate in the program due to serious injury or illness, or if a family member (parent, grandparent or sibling) suffers a sickness or injury that is not pre-existing and the student is therefore unable to participate in the program, or if either parent of the insured is laid off, and session interruption coverage prorated up to $5,000 for residential or $4,000 for commuter students, for any student who is unable to complete the program for the reasons listed above.

* A nominal fee of $75 is charged for this insurance coverage for U.S. students. International students automatically receive insurance and its benefits through the international student fee.

Please Note: The maximum benefit for Tuition Refund/Session Interruption is based on the actual program fees for the SIG session.

For our international students we are pleased to let you know that as part of your international student fee of $250 for residential students and $150 for commuter students, in which you are automatically enrolled, you receive the following benefits:

  • $500,000 Basic Medical Insurance per accident or illness with a $50 deductible (per accident or illness)
